Boom IT is currently looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice who is eager to learn, ready to work hard, and passionate about building practical IT skills. No prior experience is required, just a positive attitude and a willingness to grow. The successful candidate will work closely with an experienced support team, gaining hands-on exposure to real client work and learning how Boom IT keeps business technology running smoothly in a supportive environment.

As part of the apprenticeship, structured training will be delivered by Baltic Apprenticeships in two-day training blocks every 4 to 6 weeks, providing a strong balance of on-the-job experience and accredited learning. In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Security processes such as password resets, encryption, multi-factor authentication, anti-virus configuration, firewall encryption.
  • Using technical documents on an internal CRM such as network diagrams, technical policies and knowledge-based articles.
  • Support with SLAs on an internal ticketing system called service CRM.
  • Provide an audit trail of IT issues on the ticketing system.
  • Provide support face-to-face, over the phone, through tickets and over email.
  • Use troubleshooting tools like Wireshark, Ninja 1 RMM, Teams viewer and command prompt.
  • Work on lots of network devices such as fitting routers, Wi-Fi ports, servers, patch management for cables and firewalls.
  • Work on cloud technology like SharePoint, Teams, Azure.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £15,500-£18,000 per annum.
  • 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.
  • 28 days holiday.

  • Option to progress to Level 4 or full-time position.

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.
