Are you fascinated by how networks operate and eager to start a career in IT infrastructure? Evolve is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Network Engineer Apprentice to join their team and support the design, development, and maintenance of their internal systems and network infrastructure. In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience working on real-world projects — from reviewing and enhancing existing systems to implementing improvements, supporting rollouts, and ensuring ongoing system performance. You’ll work closely with a range of departments, learning how to deliver reliable and secure IT services across the business. With full support from your workplace mentor and structured training provided by Baltic Apprenticeships, you’ll develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to succeed as a Network Engineer in today’s digital world. A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Design, develop, and maintain internal systems and network infrastructure
  • Assist with network expansion activities, including installation and configuration of switches, routers, servers, and access points
  • Configure software to enhance security and support firewall upgrades
  • Utilise network monitoring and diagnostic tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, IP Scanner, Ping, and Tracert
  • Create detailed technical documentation including network topology diagrams, server rack layouts, Wi-Fi coverage maps, hardware/software directories, and disaster recovery plans
  • Provide 1st line support within the Network Operations Centre (NOC)
  • Support technical delivery teams and assist with network migrations

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £17,000 per annum
  • Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week)

Your Training with Baltic:

You will be enrolled in a Level 4 Apprenticeship in Network Engineering, providing you with formal qualifications and practical skills. You’ll also have access to one-to-one mentoring sessions with senior team members and on-the-job training that aligns with your career goals.
