This is an exciting opportunity to kick-start your career in IT and network engineering, gaining hands-on experience working with enterprise-level networks, security solutions, and cloud technologies while completing a recognised apprenticeship qualification.As a Network Engineering Apprentice, you will play a key role in supporting their clients’ infrastructure, resolving technical issues, and assisting with network builds and deployments. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and receive structured training to develop into a skilled network professional.You will also be working towards your Level 4 Network Engineering qualification delivered by our expert team at Baltic Apprenticeships.**A Typical Day in the Job*** Act as the first point of contact for 1st line support issues, escalating and assisting with more complex 2nd line network tasks.* Support the build, configuration, and deployment of network switches from scratch to production environments.* Configure and maintain routers, VLANs, and other essential network components.* Assist with the management of wireless infrastructure, including configuring access points and performing firewall upgrades.* Proactively monitor, analyse, and troubleshoot network issues using tools such as Wireshark, UniFi, and SonicWall.* Deliver end-to-end configuration and support of client networks across a variety of environments.* Provide technical support for Microsoft 365 and related services.* Assist with email security solutions, including Barracuda Email Security.**Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge*** Strong motivation and willingness to learn.* Genuine passion for IT and networking.* Good communication and teamwork skills.* Strong problem-solving ability with attention to detail.* Proficient computer skills (previous IT or networking exposure is beneficial).* Any experience in a customer-facing role would be an advantage.* Exposure to Office 365 or basic networking knowledge is desirable.* Grades required – Maths 4/C, English 4/C**Salary, Hours & Benefits*** £18,000 – £20,000 per annum.* 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:30.* 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays.* Birthday off.* Access to Benefit Hub.* Participation in team social events.* Full training and mentoring as part of a Network Engineer Apprenticeship programme.* Due to the nature of the role, a full driving licence is required.This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support.
