Calling all aspiring IT Technicians! Baltic Apprenticeships has an exciting opportunity for an IT enthusiast to join the team at Bowman Riley as an IT Apprentice! The IT systems within Bowman Riley are critical to their ongoing operations, including operational management, communications, data storage (including security/access), and design functions. The IT Assistant's role is to coordinate this work and to recognise and escalate support to the IT Manager as and when necessary.

As well as completing and obtaining your Level 3 IT Support Apprenticeship, you will also obtain a Microsoft certification in either Azure, 365 or Security! As an IT Apprentice, you will be an essential part of the team, responsible for providing 1st & 2nd line IT Support, working on hardware issues, software issues and more! This is the perfect opportunity to kick-start your career within IT.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Assist with providing 1st/2nd line technical support, answering support queries either directly or via phone or mail
  • Provide technical support to end-users, both in person and remotely
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and software
  • Implement security of the network, data and its storage and communication systems
  • Assist with network administration tasks, including setting up user accounts and permissions
  • Work together with other managers and directors in relation to IT matters
  • Document technical procedures and create user guides
  • Support users in the use of computer equipment by providing necessary advice and/or training

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • Salary - £20,000
  • Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
  • 28 Days Annual Leave

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Good Communication Skills
  • Full UK Driving licence - Required
  • Ability to travel to any of the business offices as and when required
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 stack
  • Commitment to ongoing training to develop your skills in areas relevant to your role
  • Hold a recognised qualification in an IT-related subject is preferred but not essential
  • Grade 4/C in Maths & 5/C in English GCSE
