This combination of practical learning and formal training will help build a strong foundation for a long-term career in IT.In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.**A Typical Day in the Job:*** Assist with day-to-day IT security processes, including password resets, creating and managing user accounts, processing leavers, enabling anti-virus protection, applying BitLocker encryption, and supporting multi-factor authentication.* Support the creation and implementation of basic security controls such as group policies and access management.* Interpret and follow technical documentation including supplier documentation, knowledge base articles, setup guides, security policies, and internal systems such as password managers and SharePoint.* Log, update, and manage support requests using ticketing systems such as Autotask and Halo, ensuring accurate documentation and a clear audit trail.* Support service level agreements (SLAs) by responding to tickets promptly and escalating issues when required.* Provide technical support to internal users and external customers via phone calls, emails, face-to-face interactions, and ticketing systems.* Assist with troubleshooting IT issues using tools such as Command Prompt, PowerShell, Task Manager, and Performance Monitor.* Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware including hard drive replacements, building new PCs, and adding RAM.* Support the setup and maintenance of network hardware such as routers, switches, and Wi-Fi access points.* Gain an understanding of wired and wireless networks and support network-connected devices such as servers, switches, and access points.Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.**Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge*** Analytical mindset with the ability to think logically and problem-solver.* A proactive “get up and give it a try” attitude and willingness to learn.* Clear and confident communication skills, both verbal and written.* Positive, professional approach when dealing with others.* Customer service experience is a significant advantage, demonstrating empathy and people skills.* Comfortable asking questions and seeking feedback to improve.* Reliable, motivated, and eager to develop new skills.* Team-oriented with the ability to work well with a range of people.* Grade 4 in GCSE Maths & Grade 5 in GCSE English.**Salary, Hours & Benefits:*** £17,000-£21,000 per annum.* 8.30pm-5pm Monday to Friday.* 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays.This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support.
