About Baltic

Baltic Apprenticeships is an award-winning provider of digital and technology apprenticeships, helping people build meaningful careers and supporting employers to develop the skills they need to grow, innovate and embrace new technology. Rated Outstanding by Ofsted, we are one of the UK’s leading apprenticeship providers and consistently perform at the very top of our sector across key quality, achievement and learner satisfaction measures. We’re also proud to have been recognised as one of The Sunday Times 100 Best Places to Work. Our success is driven by an ambitious, supportive culture built around kindness, collaboration, development and recognition, where people are encouraged to contribute ideas, play to their strengths and make a genuine impact.

The role

This is a student placement designed for someone who wants to explore a career in digital marketing. You don’t need previous professional experience; we’re looking for curiosity, creativity and a genuine interest in marketing, technology and learning. You’ll support a broad range of campaigns and projects, from creating content and social media posts to designing email campaigns and learning how marketing automation works. The role is intentionally varied, giving you exposure to the whole marketing team and the freedom to discover the areas you enjoy most. You won’t be expected to arrive knowing everything. We’ll give you the support, guidance and hands-on experience you need to build your confidence and develop valuable, transferable skills.

What you’ll be doing

  • Researching and developing content, including blog posts, articles, guides and whitepapers
  • Producing, adapting and scheduling content across Baltic’s social media channels
  • Supporting the creation, design and delivery of email marketing campaigns
  • Learning to build workflows and implement marketing automation using HubSpot
  • Creating graphics and other visual assets to support campaigns and communications
  • Updating and repurposing existing content for different audiences and channels
  • Supporting campaign planning, delivery and reporting
  • Helping to maintain Baltic’s brand identity and tone of voice across marketing activity
  • Researching digital marketing trends, audience interests and competitor activity
  • Collaborating with different members of the team and contributing ideas
  • Supporting wider marketing projects and activities as opportunities arise

What we’re looking for

No previous marketing experience is required. You may be studying marketing, business, communications, media, design or another relevant subject or simply have a strong personal interest in the field. We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine interest in digital marketing and technology
  • Is enthusiastic about learning and developing new skills
  • Enjoys writing, creating or communicating ideas
  • Is curious, proactive and willing to ask questions
  • Has good attention to detail
  • Can organise their time and manage different tasks
  • Is comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Is open to feedback and keen to keep improving
  • Brings ideas, energy and a positive attitude

An interest in content creation, social media, design, email marketing, data or marketing technology would be helpful, but we don’t expect you to be passionate about all of them. Part of the placement is discovering where your strengths lie.

What you’ll gain

  • Hands-on experience across a wide range of digital marketing disciplines
  • Exposure to content, social media, email, design and marketing automation
  • Practical experience using platforms such as HubSpot
  • Support and guidance from an experienced marketing team
  • Opportunities to contribute to genuine campaigns and see your work go live
  • Experience working within a fast-growing digital and technology business
  • A portfolio of work and practical skills to support your future career
  • The flexibility to explore the areas of marketing that best suit your strengths and interests
