They are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic IT Apprentice with a genuine interest in technology and a strong willingness to learn. As an IT Apprentice you will be responsible for working alongside their Technicians to provide a seamless IT experience for the students and staff within their schools and MATs. The successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative team where learning is encouraged and development is a priority. Working alongside experienced engineers, the apprentice will assist with day to day IT support tasks, problem solving, and real client projects, gaining valuable practical experience from the outset.

As part of the role, the apprentice will complete a structured training programme with Baltic Apprenticeships, attending two day training blocks every 4 to 6 weeks to build technical knowledge and professional skills alongside their workplace learning. In this role, you'll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job

  • Provide first line IT support to internal users and external customers, responding to tickets, calls and on-site requests in line with agreed service level agreements.
  • Assist with user account management, including password resets, new user creation, access permissions and security tasks within Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
  • Support endpoint security by installing, monitoring and maintaining antivirus and device protection solutions, ensuring systems remain secure and compliant.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software and connectivity issues using remote monitoring and management tools, command line diagnostics and documented procedures.
  • Install, configure and maintain IT equipment including laptops, printers, mobile devices, servers and networked storage, both remotely and on-site.
  • Assist with software installation, configuration and updates across multiple platforms including Windows, macOS, Chromebooks and iOS devices.
  • Document all support tasks, resolutions and escalations accurately using the helpdesk system to maintain a clear audit trail and support service improvement.
  • Gain hands on experience with cloud technologies such as Microsoft Intune, Google Workspace and SharePoint, as well as basic scripting and automation tools.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
