Support adherence to engineering standards, design guidelines, drafting practices and accuracy checks. Ensure timely completion of drawing approvals, reviews and technical signoff. Maintain processes that reduce rework, errors, RFIs and design related NCRs.
- Systems & Data Accuracy: Ensure design data, BOM accuracy, routing, timings and technical specifications are correctly maintained in the relevant systems. Support system improvements, including templates, standards and bill of materials structures to increase accuracy and reduce lead time.
- Quality Management: Ensure NCRs are investigated promptly with effective root cause corrective actions. Lead or support technical root cause analysis for product, design & manufacturing issues.
- Health & Safety: Ensure activities and instructions consider safety at every stage (DfS). Assist risk-based assessments where applicable. Reinforce that safety is non-negotiable across design, engineering and production interfaces.
- Development of People: Support development of staff with formal professional development opportunities and career succession plans. Use competency tools to monitor and uplift performance to best in class. Identify high-potential talent for leadership development pathways. Deliver annual objectives for all staff in line with the 5-year plan.
- Promote Engineering & Product Understanding: Build strong product knowledge within engineering, design and operations teams. Support customer-specific technical requirements and bespoke product solutions. Encourage a culture of engineering excellence and customer focused design.
- Continuous Improvement: Ensure all processes deliver value and align with customer expectations. Maintain and drive continuous improvement plans, including standardisation of drawings, templates and documentation. Champion the "Lean" philosophy and introduce training packages for everyone within the Operations team.
- Equipment, Tools & Technical Resources: Ensure teams have appropriate software, tools, equipment and technical resources. Maintain awareness of new technologies to ensure Balmoral remains at the forefront of innovation.
- Forecasting & Reporting: Forecast and deliver an accurate rolling three month revenue forecast. Report on capacity, workloads, bottlenecks, equipment constraints and resourcing needs. Create an Operating rhythm that delivers accurate and timely communication to all.
