Join Our Team as a Credit Controller. Balmoral Tanks Ltd is seeking an experienced and proactive Credit Controller to take ownership of our credit control function within the Tanks division. This is a crucial role within our busy finance department, where you will help drive strong financial performance, maintain robust ledger accuracy, and support our monthly forecasting processes.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage the overall debtor position and maintain clean and accurate sales and retention ledgers.
- Prepare monthly cashflow forecasts using live ledger data.
- Allocate cash across the division and post invoices to our accounting system.
- Raise and monitor applications for payment using Payapps (CIS).
- Use effective credit control techniques to secure timely payments.
- Liaise closely with clients, the finance team, contracts teams, and sales to resolve invoice queries and ensure accurate contract terms.
- Issue monthly statements, maintain accurate records, and escalate overdue debt when necessary.
- Support monthly reporting and contribute to continuous improvements within the finance function.
About You
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in credit control or sales ledger roles, ideally within manufacturing or construction.
- Experience working with computerised accounting systems.
- Knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) is desirable.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong organisational and decision‑making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings (advantageous).
- Competent in Microsoft Excel and Word.
