Balmoral Comtec, a division of Balmoral Group, provides surface and subsurface buoyancy, insulation and elastomer products and services to the global energy, defence, subsea communications and oceanographic industries. We are recruiting for a Project Coordinator within the Project Engineering Department in Aberdeen.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB'S FUNCTION
Provide support to the Project Engineers in coordinating, scheduling, and tracking project activities on site. Facilitate smooth communication between various stakeholders at all levels of the business, ensuring that project timelines, resources, testing and deliveries are met. Assist in maintaining accurate project documentation and reporting, enabling successful project delivery.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOBHOLDER
- Where required coordinate with internal teams (engineering, production, procurement, etc) and external stakeholders (e.g third party inspectors) to ensure projects run to the required schedule.
- As necessary assist with procurement activities by tracking orders, ensuring timely delivery of materials per the schedule.
- Aid in assisting with having parts and products ready and available for testing purposes.
- Identify and report potential risks or issues to the Project Engineers.
- Support the optimisation & creation of departmental improvements.
- Assist in logging and coordinating the deploying of personnel and equipment for aftermarket activities.
- Support in the preparation and update of project status reports, meeting minutes, and other required project documentation, ensuring accurate and timely distribution to stakeholders.
- When required attend project meetings, capturing key action points and ensuring they are followed up and completed on time.
- When required co-ordinate with internal teams (product R&D, technical, production, procurement, STC etc) and external stakeholders (e.g. third-party authorities) to ensure development projects run to the required schedule and provide weekly status reports to Senior Project Manager / Engineering and Projects Director.
Qualifications
- Higher National Certificate (HNC) or Higher National Diploma (HND) - Ideally in a relevant field such as Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business.
- PRINCE2 Foundation or APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ).
Experience
- Experience in a similar role within the Oil and Gas, manufacturing, or construction industry is typically expected.
- Experience coordinating projects in a fast-paced, regulated environment would be highly advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with project documentation, scheduling, and working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and any project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project).
Skills / Training
- Demonstrate an ability to effectively utilise resources, and the ability to plan, control, and take responsibility for own work.
- A good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel packages.
- Strong communication skills.
- General office administration experience.
- Keyboard and computer systems skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Familiarity with Balmoral Group business and systems.
- Familiarity with Balmoral Group products and services.
