Are you ready to take ownership of commercial performance and lead a team that delivers excellence? Balmoral Tanks is looking for a Commercial Manager to join our corporate management team. This is a pivotal role, overseeing the financial and contractual success of planned tank and service installation projects across the UK and internationally.
As Commercial Manager, you'll ensure profitability, compliance, and best practice throughout all stages of delivery. You'll lead a dedicated commercial team, support operational colleagues, and act as a trusted point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Lead all commercial activities across multiple tank installation and refurbishment contracts, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.
- Manage cost control, valuations, variations, and final accounts in line with company and client requirements.
- Prepare accurate cost forecasts, cash flow reports, and monthly margin updates.
- Support bid and tender processes with commercial input and risk analysis.
- Ensure compliance with JCT, NEC, and framework agreements while identifying and mitigating financial risks.
- Build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors to drive performance and repeat business.
- Oversee subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and change management.
- Resolve contractual issues professionally and support dispute resolution to maximise profitability.
- Champion commercial accountability across operations and develop processes that deliver winâwin outcomes for all stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Quantity Surveyor within building services, maintenance, or construction.
- Ideally degree-qualified (BSc Hons Quantity Surveying or similar).
- Strong understanding of JCT and NEC contracts.
- Excellent commercial and financial acumen with the ability to analyse data and drive profitability.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and lead a team effectively.
