Balmoral Tanks Ltd is a leading European engineering design and manufacturing company. We are currently recruiting a Fabricator / Welder to join our Operations team at Balmoral Tanks Ltd. This role is responsible for the efficient fabrication of steelwork assemblies, supporting the production of high‑quality tank components while maintaining strong safety, quality, and productivity standards.

About the Role

You will work with mild steel and stainless steel components, interpreting technical drawings and carrying out MIG and TIG welding in a busy manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate steelwork assemblies using relevant machinery and hand tools
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, raising queries where required
  • Carry out MIG and TIG welding on mild steel and stainless steel components
  • Maintain daily productivity levels while ensuring quality standards are met
  • Follow all health & safety procedures and wear PPE at all times
  • Accurately record quality, productivity, and TPM information
  • Report defects, discrepancies, or quality issues
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Maintain personal training and development, including cross‑skilling

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication / Welding
  • Time‑served fabricator/welder trained in all aspects of steel fabrication
  • Experience working with carbon steel, aluminium, and stainless steel
  • MIG / MMA / TIG welding experience
  • Experience with plasma cutting, flame cutting, grinding, and polishing
  • Confident using workshop equipment such as pillar drills, band saws, and overhead cranes

Desirable

  • Previous safety training
  • EN1090 accreditation

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A positive, flexible attitude with a strong focus on quality and safety
