Join Our Team as a Credit Controller. Balmoral Tanks Ltd is seeking an experienced and proactive Credit Controller to take ownership of our credit control function within the Tanks division. This is a crucial role within our busy finance department where you will help drive strong financial performance, maintain robust ledger accuracy, and support our monthly forecasting processes. What You'll Be Doing
- Manage the overall debtor position and maintain clean and accurate sales and retention ledgers.
- Prepare monthly cashflow forecasts using live ledger data.
- Allocate cash across the division and post invoices to our accounting system.
- Raise and monitor applications for payment using Payapps (CIS).
- Use effective credit control techniques to secure timely payments.
- Liaise closely with clients, the finance team, contracts teams, and sales to resolve invoice queries and ensure accurate contract terms.
- Issue monthly statements, maintain accurate records, and escalate overdue debt when necessary.
- Support monthly reporting and contribute to continuous improvements within the finance function.
About You
We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running. You will ideally have:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in credit control or sales ledger roles, ideally within manufacturing or construction. Experience working with computerised accounting systems. Knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) is desirable.
- Skills & Abilities: Strong organisational and decision-making skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to read and understand technical drawings (advantageous). Competent in Microsoft Excel and Word. Commercially aware, innovative, and always looking for better ways of working.
- Personal Qualities: Customer-focused, confident, and able to handle challenging conversations professionally. Reliable, accountable, and committed to delivering a Right First Time culture.
