Balmonds is an award-winning British skincare brand dedicated to helping people with sensitive, dry and eczema-prone skin.

We create naturally effective, dermatologist-tested products that support the skin barrier, combining traditional botanical ingredients with modern skincare science.

As part of our growing team, you'll also have the opportunity to work across both Balmonds and our sister brand, Nailberry, gaining experience across skincare and premium nail care while supporting a diverse range of exciting projects.

Role Description

The Ecommerce Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, optimisation, and growth of Balmonds ecommerce channels, with a primary focus on Shopify websites, email marketing, Amazon content, customer journey optimisation, and digital performance.

Working closely with the Managing Director, PR & Brand Manager, and external agency partners, the role will drive online sales, improve customer experience, and optimise conversion across both brands.

This is a hands-on role combining website management, ecommerce optimisation, CRM, Amazon content management, digital analysis, and creative adaptation for ecommerce and paid media channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Website Management & Optimisation
  • Manage and maintain website content across both brands, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and best practice.
  • Create and update landing pages, collection pages, campaign pages, promotional banners, and website content.
  • Implement website updates and basic backend changes, including Shopify theme updates and coding where required.
  • Conduct regular website audits to identify opportunities to improve navigation, customer experience, and conversion.
  • Manage website merchandising and product presentation to support commercial objectives.
  • Collaborate with the PR & Brand Manager to ensure campaign, promotional, and launch content is effectively translated into website experiences that support customer engagement and conversion.
  • Work with external partners where required to improve website functionality and performance.
  • Support SEO best practices across website content and product pages.
  • 2. Product Page Optimisation & Ecommerce Content
  • Create and optimise Product Detail Pages (PDPs) to improve customer understanding and conversion.
  • Write and update product copy, FAQs, educational content, and benefit-led messaging.
  • Adapt and optimise existing brand assets for ecommerce channels, including website banners, landing page graphics, Amazon content, infographics, comparison charts, ingredient call-outs, and product education visuals.
  • Work closely with the PR & Brand Manager and Content Creator to ensure ecommerce assets are commercially effective while remaining consistent with brand guidelines.
  • Ensure all ecommerce content aligns with brand guidelines and commercial objectives.
  • Support new product launches through the creation of website content, landing pages, and launch assets.
  • 3. Email Marketing & CRM
  • Build, schedule, and deploy email campaigns using Klaviyo.
  • Create email layouts and adapt creative assets using Canva and Klaviyo templates.
  • Manage and optimise automated customer flows, including welcome, abandonment, post-purchase, replenishment, and retention journeys.
  • Support customer segmentation and lifecycle marketing initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on email performance, providing recommendations to improve engagement, conversion, and revenue.
  • 4. Amazon Content & Store Optimisation
  • Maintain and update Amazon Brand Stores across both brands.
  • Create and optimise Amazon A+ Content, infographics, comparison charts, and product imagery.
  • Support listing optimisation through improved content, copy, imagery, and keyword implementation.
  • Monitor product pages to ensure content accuracy and consistency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve conversion, visibility, and customer experience on Amazon.
  • 5. Ecommerce Performance & Conversion Optimisation
  • Monitor website, email, and Amazon performance metrics.
  • Produce regular performance reports and dashboards.
  • Analyse customer behaviour, conversion rates, customer journeys, and campaign performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve conversion rate, average order value, and customer retention.
  • Support testing and optimisation initiatives across digital channels.
  • Provide recommendations to improve overall ecommerce performance and customer experience.
  • 6. Paid Media Collaboration & Performance Support
  • Work closely with the Managing Director and paid media agency to support the execution of the paid media strategy across Balmonds.
  • Adapt and provide creative assets for paid advertising campaigns across Meta, Google, and other digital channels.
  • Support the implementation of landing pages and onsite experiences aligned with paid media activity.
  • Monitor campaign performance, spend, and key ecommerce metrics, providing insights and recommendations to improve results.
  • Collaborate with the agency to ensure digital campaigns align with wider brand, promotional, and commercial priorities.
  • Support reporting and performance reviews, helping identify opportunities to improve customer acquisition, conversion, and return on investment.
  • 7. Marketing & Launch Support
  • Support campaign and product launches through the creation of ecommerce assets, landing pages, and digital content.
  • Collaborate with the PR & Brand Manager to ensure consistent execution across channels.
  • 8. Innovation & Continuous Improvement
  • Stay up to date with ecommerce, Amazon, CRM, AI, and digital marketing best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology, automation, and AI tools.
  • Recommend new ideas and improvements to enhance customer experience, digital performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Continuously review competitor activity and industry best practice to identify growth opportunities.

Key Skills & Experience

  • 3–5+ years' experience in ecommerce, digital marketing, or Shopify management.
  • Strong experience with Shopify and ecommerce content management.
  • Experience using Klaviyo or similar email marketing platforms.
  • Experience creating and optimising Amazon A+ Content and Brand Stores.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance data and identify opportunities.
  • Experience using Canva and other digital content creation tools.
  • Understanding of SEO, ecommerce best practices, and customer journey optimisation.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Desirable

  • Experience working with beauty, skincare, wellness, or consumer brands.
  • Basic HTML, CSS, Shopify LIquid, or website coding knowledge.
  • Experience working alongside paid media agencies.
  • Experience using AI tools to improve productivity, content creation, and ecommerce performance.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Looker Studio, Hotjar, or similar reporting tools.
