Permanent position in Canning Town, working 40 hours per week from 08.30 to 17.30, Monday to Friday.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, motivate, inspire, encourage and develop your Security team and wider estate team to deliver a residential lifestyle experience across the sites.
  • Provide efficient and effective management of all aspects of estate Security and CCTV management.
  • Act as manager on duty, sharing this responsibility with other management team members.
  • Recruit, manage and supervise the in-house security team, ensuring the Ballymore brand values are at the centre of service provision.
  • Provide a secure and safe environment for residents, commercial tenants and staff.
  • Utilise various software systems for communication with residents and stakeholders, including the resident app.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Property Director, reviewing daily shift reports and monthly reports, and meet formally once a month.
  • Ensure the security team conducts constant estate patrols and provides daily patrol reports.
  • Ensure the security team conducts building patrols and identifies any shortfalls in service delivery.
  • Prepare the team rota and allocate/approve holidays, ensuring sufficient staffing levels.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels across the portfolio, working closely with the Talent Team for interviewing, hiring and training.
  • Manage and develop site-based staff, ensuring they are motivated and trained to achieve necessary skills and operate to appropriate service standards.
  • Conduct appraisals, reviews and performance meetings with the team.
  • Lead and coordinate fire drills and weekly fire tests with senior management.
  • Be the first point of contact for residents regarding security and safety issues.
  • Address illegally parked vehicles in the estate appropriately.
  • Build positive relationships with residents' associations and stakeholders such as landlords, commercial tenants and housing associations.
  • Liaise with external bodies such as the Police, Tower of Hamlets, and noise pollution team.
  • Work with the site Facilities Management team to define and review the implementation of Fire and Health & Safety policy, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice guidelines.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • SIA Accreditation.
  • Strong track record of working collaboratively and effectively with a wide range of people.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong leadership skills developed in a management environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in the security industry, including regulations and requirements.
  • Management experience within the security industry.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety Management in mixed-use developments.
  • Extensive experience leading both in-house and externally contracted services in a complex multi-site environment.
  • Ability to execute and implement strategic and tactical plans.
  • Ability to drive organisational and cultural change to create a sense of community.
  • Correct approach to energise and encourage collaboration while motivating and managing team abilities.
  • Knowledge of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985.
  • Supervisory/Management Qualification.
