As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will support the Commercial team to monitor project finances and contractual relationships. Your responsibilities will include:
- Involvement in the procurement of designated packages.
- Managing costs from initial calculations to final figures, minimising costs while enhancing value for money and achieving required standards and quality.
- Taking ownership of several trade packages post contract, ensuring accurate reporting and effective control of financial positions.
- Managing contractual relationships between Ballymore and Trade Contractors.
- Overseeing other Quantity Surveyors at various levels throughout the procurement process.
- Managing the tender event schedule to ensure timely procurement in line with the IRS and construction programme.
- Managing aftercare teams across developments, including resource management and developing new teams for upcoming projects.
- Ensuring excellent aftercare, reactive repair, and customer care processes.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Identifying and analysing commercial risks.
- Advising on procurement strategy.
- Preparation of cost plans and bills of quantities.
- Performing risk management, value management, cost control, and cost reporting.
- Preparing tender and contract documents, including liaison with Consultants and the construction team.
- Preparing and analysing tenders.
- Providing advice on contractual claims and general contract administration.
- Valuing completed work and preparing payments for approval.
- Tracking requests for approval in line with company limits of authority.
The successful applicant will hold:
- BTEC in Building Studies, Building Engineering or Building Management, or a HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying (including an industrial placement).
- A minimum of eight years' experience managing elements of construction projects.
