Job Description

We are recruiting a Fitness Coach to join us at London City Island & Good Luck Hope. Ballymore is a family-owned business with over 40 years of experience and over 80 awards. We manage 11,000 homes across 12 luxury residential developments in London.

Hours

Rota shift times:

  • 05:45 – 14:45
  • 07:45 – 16:45
  • 9:00 – 18:00
  • 12:45 – 21:45
  • 14:15 – 23:15

Shift Pattern: 5 days across Monday to Sunday.

Location: E16, Canning Town

Contract: 40 hpw/permanent

Salary: £26,436.80 per annum + commission

What You’ll Do

  • Support the Health Club Manager with all operational aspects of the leisure facility.
  • Contribute to the development of the department by promoting services to members and tracking progress.
  • Consistently deliver a ‘best in class’ level of customer care to all residents and guests.
  • Work as part of a team, greet and interact with residents/guests, carry out duties and maintain environment and equipment to the highest standards.
  • Teach one class per shift at a minimum. If necessary, deliver more than one class during a shift.
  • Offer residents and guests a 7‑star professional service at all times and ensure a safe, clean and enjoyable experience within the leisure facility.
  • Proactively ensure the smooth and professional running of the leisure facility.
  • Teach exercise classes to residents/guests.
  • Train residents/guests in personal training when required.
  • Answer resident and guest questions, concerns and complaints professionally and promptly, referring as necessary.
  • Familiarise with the services offered and serve as a customer‑service liaison between residents/guests and management.
  • Help with resident/guest retention and growth by interacting in an intelligent, tactful and friendly manner.
  • Communicate regularly with the HCM and offer suggestions regarding improvements to operation of the leisure facilities.
  • Maintain a friendly, helpful, and courteous demeanor.
  • Undertake responsibilities in relation to Health & Safety, Fire Cautions, COSHH, etc.
  • Complete procedural documentation in a timely basis (incident reports, maintenance requests, shift changes).
  • Stock storage units; clean and organise all fitness areas, equipment, studios and any rooms/areas within the leisure facility.
  • Monitor music and sound levels to avoid disruption.
  • Anticipate resident/guest needs and proactively offer information and guidance.
  • Ensure visibility and assistance to members and guests; notify HCM/Shift Manager before taking a break.
  • If a shift ends and no replacement exists, remain until cover is identified and the HCM/Shift Manager notified.
  • Check and initial the communications log regularly and advise the HCM as needed.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date notice boards.
  • Attend weekly departmental meetings and other staff meetings as arranged.
  • Recognise opportunities to promote PT, wellness, exercise and master classes.
  • Continue ongoing education and training provided by the leisure facility/BPL.
  • Accept and complete all assignments deemed appropriate by the HCM or Resort Management.
  • Submit time‑off requests to the HCM.
  • Represent the leisure facility and yourself in a professional and positive manner.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, healthy and professional appearance; wear the correct uniform at all times.
  • Abide by all Resort/BPL/Company policies and procedures.
  • Cover the fitness reception as required.
  • Assist with special events or functions, pool testing.
  • Work within other resort leisure facilities as needed, not restricted to one site.
  • Help create a ‘can do, will do, with pleasure’ culture within all aspects of the team.
