About the role: Responsible for the implementation of the Group’s strategy to deliver outstanding Health & Safety performance. They will provide advice and direction on all matters relating to Health & Safety and employee welfare at the highest level. The role forms a key element of a transformation plan to achieve a sustainable step-change in the safety leadership culture, capability, and performance of the business. The principal responsibility will be to collaborate with the Construction Director to:
- Develop and implement an effective safety leadership strategy which aligns with business growth plan adhering to regulatory compliance
- Improve operational efficiency and performance to achieve commercial success
- Balance reactive compliance monitoring requirements with proactive focus and development of leading strategy in health and safety initiatives.
This position will act as an ambassador and role model for the Safety function with an engaging communication and influencing style to managing expectations at all levels of the business and an appetite to drive long-term, sustainable change within the business.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a minimum of 10 years experience in a senior leadership role
- Experience of leading health & safety within construction, refurbishment, and development projects
- Hold a Degree / NEBOSH / NCRQ Diploma or NVQ5 (or equivalent)
- Be a Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH)
