Permanent position based in Canary Wharf, working 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:30 (Core hours 10:00 - 16:00, with flexi hours between 07:30 - 18:30). Work from home is available one day per week, on Fridays.
The Payroll Manager will provide a competent, effective and timely payroll function for the business. The main responsibilities include:
- Processing payroll on a monthly basis for approximately 500 staff across 11 separate company payrolls, liaising with HR and on-site Property Administrators to ensure accurate information is provided in a timely manner.
- Ad hoc reporting to Finance Teams and to the Finance Director/Controller.
- Reviewing processes with appropriate reconciliations in place for payroll, with final sign off by the Financial Controller/Finance Director.
- Ensuring the monthly payment of staff salaries via Sage Supplier Salary Module.
- Maintaining all payroll records electronically and in hard copies where necessary.
- Ensuring processes and procedures comply with current regulations.
- Liaising with Heads of Departments on salary-related queries and working closely with the Financial Director/Financial Controller on processes and procedures.
- Responding to and resolving payroll queries from employees and management.
- Regular usage of the payroll system, including data compilation and input.
- Ensuring monthly PAYE/NI and all other payments are made to HMRC and third parties within legislation.
- Setting up and processing new employees and maintaining accurate records for starters and leavers.
- Dealing with special situations such as maternity pay, SSP, court orders, etc.
- Processing salary sacrifice schemes where relevant.
- Liaising with the group pension provider and advisor regarding payments and information provision.
- Processing Year End, ensuring all reporting is submitted to HMRC on time.
- Ensuring all tax notifications received from HMRC are processed correctly.
- Completing and uploading P60s on the Sage Online Portal to relevant employees.
- Managing P11D reporting, ensuring all information is correct and submitted on time to HMRC, and uploaded to employees via Sage Online Portal.
- Posting any leaver P11Ds.

- Numeracy, professional judgement, and good communication skills.
- Significant experience managing payroll for large and complex organisations.
- Experience managing and processing variable pay.
- Proactive, organised, and efficient to successfully support the business.
- Ability to concentrate on detail and work to exacting standards and strict deadlines.
