We're now recruiting for an Estate & Maintenance Operative to join us at The Brentford Project.
What you should know
- Hours: 8:30 - 17:30
- Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday - 40hpw
- Location: TW8, Brentford
- Contract: Permanent
- Pay: £16.64ph
What you'll do
- Operate the fleet of cleaning machines for the estate grounds and car parks as necessary.
- Carry out various small general repairs to buildings, including but not limited to:
- Replacing light bulbs.
- General painting and decoration.
- Replacing door handles, latches and door closers.
- Installing shelves.
- Immediate response to certain issues, i.e. initial leak investigation, leak clean-up, etc.
- Help the Yard Person as needed and directed on busy days to move bins around with the bin tug.
- Salt the estate if needed, using machinery.
- Assist in moving equipment and materials around the site.
- Assist with managing stock control, critical spares, tools and other materials on site.
- Perform routine maintenance where appropriate, recording all findings and subsequent remedial works.
- Assist with carrying out checks of site, recording any defects and reporting to Facilities Manager.
- Maintain plant rooms in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
- Meter readings (cooling, heating, water, gas & electricity) for Landlord’s utilities.
- Other general tasks to assist the Facilities Manager or management team.
What you'll need to be successful
- Full UK Driving License and clean.
- Ideally, some experience of driving a small commercial vehicle, such as a road sweeper.
- Good communication skills, both verbal & written.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Able to use initiative.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Understanding of good customer care.
- Experience with working in a residential environment.
- Previous experience gained within a Maintenance/Fabric Engineer role.
