The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 Β£ per year.

To act on behalf of BHCP in supporting the Partnership Manager with the effective delivery and management of the BHCP Strategic Plan, aligned with the Outer West Action Plan, with a key responsibility for leading on education initiatives designed to meet identified community needs and improve outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • To develop excellent working relationships with local partners and where appropriate to co-ordinate and manage the work of staff and volunteers.
  • To build extensive working relationships with stakeholders from the community/voluntary, public and private sectors and local residents to ensure that public services and local people work together to meet community needs and tackle deprivation.
  • To provide support to facilitate the implementation of a Neighbourhood Renewal Vision Framework and Neighbourhood Action Plans.
  • To investigate new opportunities for resident involvement and develop initiatives where possible.
  • To work in collaboration with other Neighbourhood Renewal Areas.
  • To assess the training needs of volunteers to ensure that they are met.
  • To help develop local community and delivery groups by providing capacity building and ongoing support.
  • To lead on community development and regeneration work for the area, identifying and implementing activities and developing their important role in regenerating the local area.
  • To identify sources of funding to encourage social and enterprise culture within the neighbourhoods and to promote and support social and economic activity among residents.
  • To contribute to the discussions and planning of Neighbourhood Renewal Initiatives.
  • To ensure the provision of technical support to BHCP, sub-committees and working groups in pursuit of the Outer West Action Plan.
  • To assist with research and consultation on potential project/activities.
  • To support joint working between groups, organisations, agencies and residents and build agreement on ways to work collaboratively in order to achieve the Neighbourhood Renewal objectives.
  • To participate in the development and maintenance of management information, promotion and reporting systems.
  • In general, to promote the aims and objectives of BHCP and Outer West Action Plan.
  • To attend training designed to enhance personal skills levels, thereby assisting the development of the BHCP area.
  • To carry out any other duties falling reasonably within the competence and capability of the post holder assigned by the Partnership Manager or BHCP Board of Directors.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A Degree in a relevant discipline, e.g. community development, social science etc.
  • 2 years' experience in a community development capacity (with degree qualification) or 5 years' experience in a community development capacity.
  • Experience of project development and assessment, including monitoring, evaluation and measuring outcomes.
  • A working knowledge, commitment and understanding of Community Development Process and Principles.
  • Experience of accessing funding in the community/voluntary sector.
  • The ability to work effectively and support partnerships which includes the community, voluntary, statutory and private sectors.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative as required and an ability to effectively manage time and priorities.
  • Ability to lead and work on multi-agency projects, teams and forums.
  • Professional Qualification in Community Development and/or Management.
  • 1 year’s experience of Project Management.
  • Experience of MS Windows and MS Office.
  • Experience of PR and Marketing.
  • Experience of managing a project budget.
