We're Ballpoint, a creative growth agency based in London. Three years in, growing 2.5x YoY, and going AI-native — not as a buzzword, but as the operating model. That's where you come in. AI is changing every part of how creative gets made — how raw footage gets cut, how variants get produced, how trends get spotted, how testing runs. The agencies that win the next five years will be the ones who rebuild their workflow around it, and the editors who help build that will define their careers on it. There aren't many places you can do this work right now. This is one of them.

You'll work across brands from early-stage start-ups to household names, on social-first creative built for TikTok and Reels, in a small team that treats creative and performance as the same job.

The role in a nutshell

You’ll be joining our expanding creative studio, focused on crafting engaging social-first video ads for our clients' paid social channels. You'll be cutting at pace, testing new formats constantly, and using AI tools to multiply what one editor can ship in a day. This is a hybrid role with 4 days per week in our Farringdon head office 6‑month contract paying between £35,000 and £40,000 pro‑rata, depending on experience.

The right candidate sees AI as the opportunity to 10x their output and automate the repetitive parts of editing — not as a threat to creativity. If you're already experimenting with generative video, AI‑assisted rotoscoping, voice cloning, automated subtitling, or LLM‑driven workflows, you'll fit right in. We're a growing company looking for someone to come on this journey with us long‑term — there is endless opportunity for the right candidate. You must be excited by creating ads that feel at home in TikTok feeds and Instagram Reels — we're not designing for TV.

What you’ll do

  • Translate creative briefs into thumb‑stopping video ads for paid social — fast‑paced, hooky, and built for Meta and TikTok feeds.
  • Take existing raw assets (brand footage, UGC, stock, AI‑generated) and edit them into high‑performing social‑first ads.
  • Shoot and edit your own footage when needed, across both lo‑fi and higher‑production styles.
  • Attend brand shoots and events to capture behind‑the‑scenes content.
  • Use AI tools meaningfully in your day‑to‑day — generative b‑roll, auto‑cut workflows, AI voiceover, batch variant production, anything that frees up time for the creative thinking and storytelling.
  • Help us build and refine the AI‑native production pipeline as we scale: testing new tools, sharing what works, and codifying processes for the wider team.
  • Stay on top of social trends so our clients' creative never skips a beat.
  • Teach yourself the latest editing styles, methods, and tools to deliver content that genuinely performs.

Experience you must have

  • 3–5 years of experience as a video editor — agency, in‑house, or freelance.
  • Proven experience editing video creative for TikTok or Reels, preferably for paid ads on those platforms.
  • Full proficiency in Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Hands‑on experience using AI tools in your editing workflow — and an instinct for where they help and where they don't.
  • Strong understanding of social‑first storytelling and best practices for Meta and TikTok.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain brand consistency across multiple clients.

Nice‑to‑have skills

  • Experience with newer generative video tools (Runway, Sora, Veo, Kling or Pika).
  • Comfort with AI audio tools (ElevenLabs & Suno).
  • 3D animation experience (Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop or Figma for the occasional static.
  • Content creation experience — perhaps you run your own social channels in your spare time.

Why we think you’ll love it at Ballpoint

  • A culture that celebrates big ideas, bold thinking, and people who push the tools forward.
  • Work across brands like Tilly Sveaas, DR.VEGAN, Glaize & Thriva.
  • London‑based office with monthly socials, plus summer and Christmas parties.
  • A small but mighty team where you'll make your mark from day one — and help shape what an AI‑native creative studio actually looks like.
