What you will be doing

  • With previous experience from the NHS or private care, you will oversee and provide high-quality care and support to women with complex Mental Health needs, while supporting your team and colleagues and promote good teamwork.
  • As a Charge Nurse, you'll lead and coordinate the quality and management of nursing care and delivering of clinical services, ensuring the day-to-day operations of your unit is performing well.
  • You'll also; Delegate nursing tasks to Nurses working in the unit and coordinate with other teams.
  • Monitor service users' conditions and respond to changes.
  • Supervise other members within the team's unit and provide guidance and support.
  • Make critical decisions regarding service user assignments, staff scheduling, and resource allocation.

Be liaison between nursing staff and other healthcare professionals, with effective communication and collaboration.

Where you will be working

You will be working at Ballington House, a 13 bedded Mental Health rehabilitation hospital that provides services for women with complex Mental Health needs.

The environment at Ballington House offers a pathway from admission to discharge which incorporates three phases; the assessment phase (accepting help), the rehabilitation phase (believing, trying and learning) and the community phase-out (self-reliance).

The patients journey generally begins on the ground floor and as they move through each phase of their pathway they proceed to the first floor and then the two bedroomed apartment on the first floor.

You will work alongside an experienced multi-disciplinary team consisting of a consultant psychiatrist, clinical psychologist and assistants, an occupational therapist and assistants, nurses, and support workers.
