About Baller League
Baller League is redefining the future of football entertainment. Combining elite-level talent with fan-driven storytelling and next-generation digital engagement, the league offers a new era of accessible, community-powered sports. Through immersive live events, cutting-edge media content, and strategic brand collaborations, Baller League connects audiences and partners at the intersection of sport, culture, and technology. Launched in 2024, Baller League now operates professional 6-a-side leagues in Germany, the UK, and the USA.
This is a standout role for someone building a career in law who thrives in a high-energy, high-pace environment and loves sport, media and live events. Working directly with the General Counsel, you’ll be at the heart of the business—supporting contracts, legal operations and expansion projects across the UK, US and new markets. If you’re organised, commercially sharp, and ready for real responsibility from day one, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract support: Support end-to-end contracting across standard agreements (NDAs, SOWs, MSAs, services agreements, marketing/production releases, appearance agreements, talent agreements and sponsorship contracts). Preparing first drafts against standard templates, managing redlines and reviewing contracts.
- Conducting legal research: Conduct practical legal research (UK + international) to support the business needs and questions.
- Template and playbook build-out: Create, improve and maintain the legal template suite, clause library, and contracting guidance notes; propose standard fallback language and “what to accept” parameters.
- Knowledge of Regs and Support: Good understanding of contract law, the Companies Act 2006 and Civil Procedure Rules (CPR).
- Signing process: Run the document signing workflow (DocuSign/Adobe Sign)—prepare packs, manage execution versions, chase signatures, circulate fully signed PDFs, and ensure correct counterparty/entity details. Ensuring this aligns with the business’ contract approval process.
- Document management & records: Maintain the contract and legal repository.
- Calendar & deadline management: Track renewal dates, deliverables, and key legal deadlines; send reminders and status updates.
- Legal ops + AI enablement: Use AI/legal AI tools responsibly to accelerate drafting, summarisation, research and template improvements.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong academic background. Law degree or equivalent qualification / completion of the LPC or SQE is desirable.
- Experience of working as a paralegal in a private practice firm or in-house role is beneficial, particularly in the sports sector.
- Experience drafting and reviewing agreements, templates, correspondence and other documentation and supporting corporate and commercial contracts.
- Solid knowledge of basic legal concepts such as the UK Companies Act and corporate filing requirements, contract law and the CPR. Knowledge of legal requirements in jurisdictions outside the UK is beneficial.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong sense of ownership.
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple deadlines calmly and efficiently.
- Interest in football, sports culture, and the wider entertainment landscape is a plus.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace tools and Microsoft Office.
- Reliable, process-led, hardworking, and eager to learn.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends during on-season periods.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and react quickly and flexibly to change.
- Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
