The Role

We are seeking an exceptional Commercial Director to lead and scale Baller League’s commercial revenue strategy. You will own the acquisition, development, and retention of high-value sponsorship and brand partnerships, working directly with global and category-leading brands. This is a senior leadership role for a commercially driven operator who combines strategic vision with hands-on deal execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Strategy & Revenue Growth
    • Develop and execute a multi-year commercial and sponsorship strategy aligned to Baller League’s growth ambitions.
    • Build scalable revenue streams across:
    • Title sponsorships
    • League partners
    • Team sponsors
    • Broadcast and digital integrations
    • Experiential and live-event partnerships
  • Set and deliver annual revenue targets.
  • Brand Partnerships & Deal Execution
    • Originate, negotiate, and close high-value partnerships with A-list brands.
    • Build bespoke, data-led partnership propositions.
    • Lead end-to-end deal lifecycle: prospecting → pitching → contracting → activation → renewal.
    • Maintain senior-level relationships with CMOs, Heads of Brand, and agency leaders.
  • Commercial Activation & Delivery
    • Ensure all partnerships are flawlessly activated across broadcast, digital, social, and live environments.
    • Work with content, production, and marketing teams to maximise sponsor ROI.
    • Oversee rights delivery, reporting, and performance tracking.
  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Build and lead a high-performing commercial team.
    • Establish sales processes, CRM systems, and performance management.
    • Coach junior and mid-level sales staff.
  • Market Positioning & Partnerships
    • Represent Baller League at industry events and with key stakeholders.
    • Build relationships with agencies, rights buyers, and media partners.
    • Monitor competitor activity and emerging commercial trends.
  • Commercial Governance
    • Own pricing frameworks, rate cards, and inventory management.
    • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and brand safety standards.
    • Support management of contracts and commercial risk.
