The Opportunity as Business Services Assistant Tax Manager
As a Business Services Tax Assistant Manager, you’ll become a trusted adviser to a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring they receive proactive, commercially focused tax advice alongside an outstanding compliance service.
You’ll work closely with Partners and senior colleagues on advisory projects, mentor junior members of the team and contribute to the continued growth of the department.

- What You’ll Be Doing as Business Services Assistant Tax Manager
- Managing a portfolio of business and private clients, delivering high-quality tax compliance and advisory work.
- Acting as the main point of contact for your clients, building long-term trusted relationships.
- Supporting colleagues across the Business Services team with technical tax queries.
- Assisting Managers and Senior Managers on advisory assignments.
- Identifying opportunities to provide additional value to clients through proactive advice.
- Planning and managing workloads to ensure deadlines are consistently achieved.
- Delegating work to junior team members while providing coaching, feedback and technical support.
- Reviewing work to ensure accuracy and quality before submission.
- Supporting the development of trainees and junior colleagues through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
- Attending client meetings and working alongside Partners on key accounts.
- Promoting collaboration, inclusion and continuous improvement across the team.
About You
We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical tax knowledge with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
You’ll ideally have
- CTA qualification (or equivalent).
- A strong background within an accountancy practice.
- Experience managing personal tax compliance work, with exposure to companies and partnerships.
- Previous experience working directly with clients.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy.
- The confidence to solve problems, challenge constructively and think commercially.
- Experience reviewing or supporting the work of junior team members.
- A collaborative approach and genuine passion for delivering outstanding client service
