The Role
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving site performance through planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, and project-based engineering activities. You will work closely with production and operational teams to maximise equipment reliability, minimise downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the site. This is a genuinely multi-skilled position with a balanced mechanical and electrical focus, offering excellent variety and exposure across a busy manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and complete effective fault finding and repairs.
- Diagnose and resolve both mechanical and electrical faults.
- Support engineering projects and site improvement initiatives.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.
- Drive continuous improvement activities to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate engineering records and maintenance documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with production teams to support operational performance.
Candidate Requirements
We are keen to speak with engineers who possess strong practical engineering skills and a proactive approach to maintenance. You will ideally have:
- Experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or similar.
- A balanced mechanical and electrical skillset.
- A recognised engineering qualification (Mechanical or Electrical).
- Time-served apprenticeship and/or strong hands-on engineering experience.
- Previous experience within manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, processing, or a similar production environment.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement activities and engineering projects.
- A positive, team-focused attitude and a desire to contribute to a growing business.
