Role Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Blending Operative to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment operating to BRC standards. The role involves weighing, mixing and blending ingredients, ensuring full batch traceability, accurate documentation, and consistently high standards of quality, hygiene and safety. The successful candidate will be detail-focused, methodical and comfortable working in an audit-ready environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out weighing, mixing and blending of ingredients in line with production plans and batch instructions.
  • Follow detailed recipes, specifications and batch records accurately.
  • Maintain full traceability by correctly logging ingredient usage, batch numbers and lot codes.
  • Complete all production documentation clearly, accurately and in real time.
  • Operate blending and mixing equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ensure correct handling, storage and identification of raw materials and finished products.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene and cleanliness within the blending area.
  • Adhere to all BRC, food safety, health & safety, COSHH and PPE requirements.
  • Support NPD and first production runs as required.
  • Escalate any quality, safety or equipment issues to the Blending Supervisor promptly.
  • Assist with stock checks and raw material inventory control.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to work.
  • Strong ability to follow and back-track across batch documentation.
  • Experience working with ingredients and mixing/blending processes.
  • Good understanding of traceability and record keeping in a regulated environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong awareness of food safety, hygiene and quality standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths.
  • Previous blending or mixing experience within food or FMCG manufacturing.
  • Experience working on a BRC-accredited site or similar regulated environment.

Desirable

  • FLT Counterbalance licence.
  • Food Science or related qualification.
