Due to an urgent operational requirement, we are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor / Shift Manager to join a well-established food manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on production professional who enjoys leading from the front, developing teams, and driving operational performance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Reporting directly to the Head of Operations you will play a key role in ensuring production targets, quality standards, and food safety requirements are consistently achieved while maintaining a strong presence on the factory floor.

Please Note: Food manufacturing experience is ESSENTIAL for this position. Applications will only be considered from candidates with previous food manufacturing or FMCG production experience. Candidates from other manufacturing sectors will not be considered.

The Role: As Production Supervisor/Shift Manager you will be responsible for leading production teams, driving daily operational performance, and ensuring the smooth running of manufacturing activities across the site.

  • Lead and motivate production teams to achieve daily production targets
  • Maintain a visible and hands-on presence on the factory floor
  • Drive improvements across output, efficiency, labour utilisation, waste reduction, and downtime
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, food safety, and quality standards
  • Monitor production KPIs and implement corrective actions where required
  • Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Planning, and Warehouse teams to deliver operational objectives
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing operation
  • Promote and maintain a strong health & safety culture
  • Develop, coach, and support team members to achieve operational excellence
  • Ensure production schedules are delivered safely, efficiently, and to customer expectations

About You: Previous food manufacturing experience is ESSENTIAL. You will have:

  • Proven experience as a Production Supervisor, Shift Manager, Team Manager, or similar leadership role within food manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, food safety, and manufacturing best practices
  • Hands-on leadership style with excellent communication and people management skills
  • Experience leading teams within a fast-paced FMCG environment
  • Strong operational focus with experience driving KPI improvements and production performance
  • Ability to build credibility quickly and lead from the front
