Position overview
The Senior Planning Analyst is responsible for leading data analytics and insights that support the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, customer demand forecasting, and Supply Chain and EMEA Leadership Team decision-making at tactical and strategic levels.
The role serves as the analytical focal point between Commercial, Customer Fulfilment, Demand Planning, Operations, and Supply Chain functions, ensuring data-driven decisions are made to optimize service, inventory, forecast accuracy, and business performance.
Your key responsibilities include
- Leadership Team Analytics & Decision Support
- Prepare executive-level reporting and presentations for Supply Chain and Business Leadership Teams.
- Deliver concise business insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop and maintain leadership KPI scorecards and visual dashboards.
- Provide trend analysis, risk assessments, and performance forecasts.
- Support annual planning, strategic reviews, and transformation initiatives.
- Translate complex datasets into clear business narratives and actionable recommendations.
- Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Support
- Lead analytical support for the monthly IBP cycle, including Demand Review, Supply Review, Inventory Review, and Executive IBP meetings.
- Prepare, validate, and analyze demand, supply, inventory, service, capacity, and financial performance data.
- Develop and maintain IBP dashboards, scorecards, and performance reporting.
- Provide scenario modelling and what-if analysis to support business decisions.
- Identify supply chain risks, opportunities, and performance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure alignment between demand plans, supply plans, inventory strategies, and financial targets.
- Customer SKU Demand Analysis & Forecast Facilitation
- Facilitate customer SKU-level demand analysis across key customers, channels, and markets.
- Own the analysis of customer forecasts, demand trends, and consumption patterns.
- Review demand signals to identify risks, opportunities, promotional impacts, seasonality, and market changes.
- Lead forecast accuracy and forecast bias analysis at customer, product, and SKU levels.
- Conduct root-cause analysis of forecast variances and recommend actions to improve forecast performance.
- Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Commercial, and Demand Planning teams to review customer demand assumptions.
- Challenge and validate customer forecast submissions through data-driven insights.
- Support demand consensus activities by providing analytical recommendations and exception reporting.
- Ensure customer demand plans are accurately reflected within the IBP process.
- Develop customer demand performance dashboards and KPI reporting for leadership reviews.
- Highlight significant customer demand changes that may impact service, inventory, capacity, or financial performance.
- Supply Chain Performance Analytics
- Analyze end-to-end supply chain performance and operational effectiveness.
- Monitor key metrics including service levels, inventory health, forecast accuracy, OTIF, and supply plan adherence.
- Identify opportunities to optimize inventory, reduce waste, and improve working capital.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven analysis.
- Measure business benefits and performance improvements resulting from supply chain projects.
- Reporting, Automation & Data Governance
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent analytics solutions.
- Automate reporting processes and improve data accessibility.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and governance of supply chain and commercial data.
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to improve data infrastructure and reporting capabilities.
- Support implementation of advanced analytics, predictive forecasting, and AI-enabled planning tools.
What are we looking for?
- Relevant Degree or equivalent within a business discipline - prefereably in Maths / Finance discipline
- English language, spoken and written essential
- Able communicator at all levels of the organisation
- Power BI experience
- Positive, proactive attitude
- Strong technical skill in SAP, Word, Excel, power point
- Data visualisation tools desirable but not required
- Financial accounting desirable
- Automation experience desirable
