This role aligns and standardizes global technical expertise relative to food safety regulatory for all product contact material globally in support of region strategy for supply assuredness and customer requirements. This role supports the development and execution of Ball's materials strategy which is inclusive of global regulatory requirements for all regions, global harmonization of food safety, and customer quality manuals, and regional lab services to coordinate internal procurement, customers, and suppliers at Ball Global Beverage, ensuring accountability, mitigating risk, and accelerating technology adoption.
Essential areas of responsibility:- Develop and implement a cohesive Ink, coating, and Metal Food Safety Regulatory compliance Strategy, standardizing protocols and specifications to optimize costs and enhance product quality with global leadership of regional regulatory and food safety requirements with coordination of Customer Quality Manuals.
- Drive metal and ODM sustainability roadmap and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Lead, standardize and optimize internal and external laboratory processes and standards in support of regulatory compliance.
- Foster collaboration with internal and external teams to drive innovative material developments aligned with global goals, leading improvement projects to enhance manufacturing processes.
- Direct and frequent matrix communication with all departments and across sectors on quality, customer technical services, product approval, compliance and regulatory affairs on growth projects in support of food safety regulatory.
- Lead the qualification of new ODM and metal suppliers as it relates to food safety regulatory, ensuring alignment with quality standards, regulations and act as a liaison between global and regional functions to align procurement decisions.
- Drive standardization of metal and ODM specifications relative to food safety regulatory to simplify processes, reduce costs, and strategically rollout new materials globally to optimize supply chain efficiency and product performance.
- Support continuous improvement activities in metal and ODM application processes with food safety regulatory leadership and expertise.
- Develop and continuously evolve purchase specifications to include food safety regulatory supply assuredness for all ODMs and metals to be included in purchasing contracts to enable supplier accountability for the performance, regulatory compliance, and safety of their products globally, by region, by country.
- Min 5 years developing and implementing cohesive strategies for material qualification on a global scale. It includes standardizing protocols, optimizing costs, and enhancing product quality through strategic planning and execution preferred.
- Min 5 years managing relationships with global suppliers, establishing performance metrics, conducting audits, and ensuring alignment with quality standards and regulations preferred.
- Min 3 years conveying ideas, strategies, and objectives clearly to diverse stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Skilled in effectively guiding teams, driving initiatives forward, and fostering collaboration across departments and regions.
- Demonstration of organization skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of advanced materials, processes, and technologies.
- Knowledge of applicable food safety regulations and standards governing all relevant materials.
- Working knowledge of principles and practices of supplier management is vital for optimizing relationships with global suppliers.
