In this role, you will operate and optimize chemical and engineering processes to support washing, reverse osmosis, wastewater treatment, and production. You will work with cross-functional plant teams to ensure safety, quality, and compliance while enabling reliable equipment performance. The position offers hands-on maintenance and process improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will contribute to high-quality cans and sustainable packaging while advancing your technical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control chemical processes including washer operations, RO unit, and effluent treatment; adjust parameters to meet operating, quality, and legal standards
  • Perform chemical inspection tests and monitor product quality via manual checks and automated systems; investigate out-of-spec results and take corrective action
  • Carry out planned and daily maintenance on process-area machinery and systems; restore equipment to working order; support maintenance and conversions; maintain maintenance records
  • Maintain operating conditions for metal coating solutions, coolant water, and copper lubricant to support equipment performance and product quality
  • Identify and isolate mechanical or process defects; communicate issues to Shift Manager or Team Leader; relay information during shift changes
  • Follow health, safety, PPE, environmental, hazardous-waste, spill-response, emergency, housekeeping, and ISO management-system requirements while contributing to process and quality improvements

Key requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification in chemical or engineering principle
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience in a chemically controlled process and engineering environment
  • Mechanical and maintenance background
  • Ability to work effectively with or without supervision and contribute positively within a team
  • Computer literacy and ability to read, write, calculate, and understand written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work safely in a noisy production environment with hazardous materials and in confined spaces; willing to work 12-hour day and night shifts on a rota
