Employment Opportunity – Ball Colegrave, Stratford-Upon-Avon.

We’re seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to oversee end-to-end UK payroll across weekly and monthly cycles.

You’ll ensure accurate, timely payments while maintaining full compliance with HMRC, RTI reporting, statutory payments, and workplace pension requirements.

The role also supports HR operations and the integration of our new Moorepay payroll/HR system.

Job Description

  • Manage the full payroll cycle (weekly/monthly) across two payrolls, including gross-to-net calculations, overtime, and bonuses.
  • Execute timely FPS (Full Payment Submissions) and EPS (Employer Payment Summary) via RTI.
  • Accurately calculate and administer SSP (Statutory Sick Pay), SMP (Maternity), and SPP (Paternity), ensuring alignment with 2026 legislative changes.
  • Oversee auto-enrolment duties, including eligibility assessments, opt-outs, and monthly contributions to providers (e. g., Aviva, NEST).
  • Lead the production and distribution of P60s and handle P45s for leavers, as well as P11D benefit reporting.
  • Manage student loan repayments, Attachment of Earnings Orders (AEOs), and salary sacrifice schemes (e. g., Cycle to Work).
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee queries regarding tax codes, NI categories, and payslip discrepancies.
  • Support the early integration of the move into Moorepay for both payroll and HR.
  • Support the HR Manager with tasks that impact payroll to ensure a smooth HR and Payroll service.
  • Maintain the hierarchy setup in the new system with regular updates and ongoing reviews.
  • Generate reports for HR on a regular and ad-hoc basis (e. g., holiday, absence, headcount, etc.).
  • Job Requirements

Essential

  • Solid experience of end-to-end payroll
  • Excellent understanding of HR data structures
  • Highly organised with excellent communication skills
  • Experience of partnering with both HR and Finance
  • In‑depth understanding of current UK tax laws, National Insurance, and National Minimum Wage compliance
  • Advanced Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) for data reconciliation and reporting
  • High level of discretion for handling sensitive data under UK GDPR

Desirable

  • Experience in supporting payroll system integrations
  • CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals) qualification (e. g., Level 3 or 4) is highly preferred
  • Hands‑on experience with UK payroll software such as Moorepay, Access, and Greentree
