Position overview:

The Taxation Accountant will cover many complex aspects within the tax and broader finance sphere, including some international aspects and supporting, on an ad-hoc basis, both functional and cross functional teams.

The role will be responsible for preparing corporation tax computations for all UK group entities with the minimum of supervision, providing tax input and review within the preparation cycle for the UK GAAP and US GAAP statutory accounts, delivering the optimum tax position for all UK sub-group related issues, evaluating and advising on complex tax technical issues which can arise in large global groups and assisting with certain international compliance aspects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Holistically managing the UK tax compliance process from start to submission of the returns
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous process improvements, for example through standardisation and leveraging available technology
  • Drafting UK tax computations from SAP TBs and reviewing of relevant SAP ledgers for provisions and disallowable expenses
  • Analysing of significant capex spend to optimise the UK sub-group’s capital allowance claims
  • Working with the broader regional finance team to prepare the tax provisions (current and deferred) for all UK GAAP statutory accounts
  • Assisting in the year end and quarterly US GAAP group reporting (for the UK sub-group)
  • Global coordination of “Country by Country (CBCR)” reporting and assistance with BEPS Pillar 2 compliance
  • Assisting with the preparation of certain transfer pricing documentation, including the Group’s OECD Master File and UK Local Files
  • Reviewing of certain UK sub-group VAT returns (for finance/holding companies), prepared by the Group’s GBS (Global Business Services function) and ad-hoc advice on VAT issues
  • Assisting with ad-hoc projects such as cash repatriation/intercompany debt/entity rationalization and drafting the UK tax strategy
