Position overview:

As the plant Electrician, you will be a member of the wider Maintenance Team that plays a critical part in supporting the plant\’s overall business plans and objectives as directed.

This role will involve setting up the brand-new production lines, flexibility is required.

This is 12 hours shift role – 2 day shift, 2 night shift, 4 days off

Key responsibilities include:

  • Installs and maintains high-speed, industrial process equipment for can and/or end making, power, lighting control, and PLC logic controls for all production processes and control equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, adjusts and repairs all electrical equipment, components, transducers, and complex timing and inspection devices.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on assigned electrical systems.
  • Identifies inefficiencies and potential electrical problems and coordinates through supervisor to resolve them.
  • Diagnoses causes of malfunctions and corrects through programmable logic controls. Ensures efficient equipment operation through proper line control programming and proactively suggests methods to improve line performance.
  • Installs and troubleshoots facility power distribution and lighting services.
  • Must display competent ability to wire, assemble, and layout electrical/electronic systems in an extremely neat and professional manner and conform to Ball wiring specifications.
  • Updates wiring schematics and computer program printouts.
  • Supplies and maintains required hand tools.
  • Initiates, reviews, and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs, JBSs).

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in a similar role in a fast-paced, critical 24/7 manufacturing or industrial company
  • This is 12 hours shift role – 2 days shift, 2 night shift, 4 days off
  • City & Guilds Electrical Installation Level 3, or HNC/HND qualifications
  • Clear communication across all levels and ability to train colleagues as needed
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools and electronic testing equipment
  • Working knowledge of the following areas: nomenclature of all assigned equipment; solid state circuitry, electronics, electrical-mechanical devices, transmission systems, interface units, AC/DC motors, wiring diagrams and schematics, computers and inspection and digital devices.
