The primary purpose of this role is to control and minimise process, line and HFI spoilage in collaboration with PHC (personal and home care) production plants. Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress, formulate action plans, and drive continuous improvement initiatives and support plant Managers on goals of efficiency as well cost reduction. This position can be based out of any EMEA PHC plant.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Lead, coach and control the reduction of spoilage in all areas in the production & work on HFI reduction projects.
  • Develop, implement, and periodically monitor KPIs related to spoilage targets and activities.
  • Collaborate with Plants to identify opportunities and improvements in manufacturing processes to reduce spoilage.
  • Map the needs of each unit and request financial resources via Capex for new products and Opex management.
  • Work collaboratively with the Global Process / Quality and Manufacturing team to implement and improve best practices defined as standard globally.
  • Implement equipment changes to enhance efficiency, quality, and spoilage reduction.
  • Support the creation of CAPEX projects by defining budgets and necessary planning to optimize results.
  • Monitor closely the evolution of results and trends, anticipating actions through analysis of indicators and strategic meetings with plants.
  • Actively promote a culture of safety, environment, health, quality, and the 5 S's in the workplace, encouraging adherence to standards and practices of excellence.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production related specialism.
  • Min 5 years experience in Spoilage & waste optimisation and reduction projects.
  • Min 5 years experience in Problem solving activities and leading X-functional teams and projects.
  • Min 5 years experience influencing and coaching X-functional teams in process optimisation activities and continuous improvement activities.
  • Demonstrated skill: Experience in industrial process analysis with a systemic approach and knowledge of continuous improvement tools.
  • Self-Motivated with a desire to make an impact.
  • Management style heavily orientated to training and coaching as well as leading and influencing X-functional project teams and stakeholders to generate cost savings and process optimisation.
  • Technical analysis skills to evaluate and optimize spoilage potentials across production stages.
  • Strong communication, coaching and leadership skills to collaborate with different departments, suppliers and stakeholders to achieve and sustain targets and objectives.
  • Good computer skills – ability to manage via computerised data.

Working knowledge:

  • Project management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Influencing, leading and coaching X-functional teams including suppliers.
  • Industry standards, best practice sharing and seeking from outside industries.
  • Operational excellence tools for identifying and implementing process improvements to reduce all different kinds of waste as well as spoilage in the production process.
  • Best practices and technologies from outside the can industry to be implemented to achieve the next level of automation.
