In this role, you’ll be at the heart of delivering critical Power T&D projects across Scotland. As the key link between operational teams, subcontractors, and the wider resource function, you’ll play a pivotal part in making sure the right people are in the right place at the right time to keep major OHL (Overhead Line) programmes moving. You’ll be shaping how resources are planned, coordinated, and deployed, helping the business deliver safely, efficiently, and with confidence. This isn’t just about scheduling – it’s about building strong relationships, anticipating future needs, solving challenges before they arise, and enabling teams on the ground to perform at their best. This is a hybrid role with expectations of being in the office and visiting projects across Scotland and occasional visits to England. Our usual split is 2 days working from home per week. It can be based in our Maxim office in Motherwell or in our Westhill Office near Aberdeen.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Allocating people to Scotland OHL projects in line with agreed resourcing plans and business needs.
  • Working with the central resource function to utilise established systems, documents, and processes to deploy resources across delivery teams and operatives.
  • Planning and coordinating resource movements between projects, ensuring regional requirements are fully supported.
  • Proactively engaging with internal stakeholders to understand and respond to resourcing needs.
  • Communicating regularly with other Power T&D resource managers and coordinators to support day‑to‑day operations and long‑term planning.
  • Collaborating with recruitment teams on filling demand, including raising ATRs.
  • Issuing reporting instructions to track project-to-project movements.
  • Acting as a point of contact for operational teams on resource-related issues.
  • Producing clear and accurate management information and reporting.

Who we’re looking for:

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of transmission works ideally with an OHL background.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders across both operations and business support functions.
  • Comfortable operating in environments with changing priorities, including the ability to manage ambiguity and competing demands.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels.
  • Strong IT capability, confident with all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Desirable:

  • Experience in resource planning across a multi-site environment, ideally within the power utilities sector.

Why work for us:

Day in, day out, our teams deliver some of the UK’s most ambitious, exciting and meaningful projects; developing, building and maintaining the vital infrastructure that supports national economies and strengthens communities.

Benefits:

  • Smart working, giving you more flexibility such as staggered start and finish times.
  • 25 days paid annual leave (pro rata).
  • Family friendly policies which include 28 weeks full pay for maternity/adoption leave and four weeks full pay for paternity/partners leave.
  • Pension, share incentive plan, volunteering leave, recognition schemes and much more.
