In partnership with bp, we have been selected to construct a first‑of‑a‑kind fully integrated gas‑fired power station with carbon capture and storage – a key driver for making Teesside the UK’s first decarbonised industrial cluster. Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic MEI Dimensional Control Manager to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland.
What you’ll be doing
The successful candidate will have accountability for delivering and managing all MEI (Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation) survey requirements for the project. Key responsibilities include:
- MEI design checks, as‑built surveys, engineering surveying and setting‑out activities.
- Reviewing MEI design information to identify survey‑related risks and ensure constructability.
- Planning survey methods, resources, and workflows to support accurate installation to specification.
- Providing survey information to the MEI discipline, assisting with QA/QC processes and supporting Health & Safety and sustainability initiatives.
- Leading, coordinating, and developing the team responsible for the MEI survey scope.
Who we’re looking for
The following qualities and experience are essential:
- MEI/Dimensional control survey background on similar projects.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Extensive knowledge of survey specific procedures.
- Proficiency in IT applications.
- Experience in monitoring systems, methods, and technologies for mechanical assets.
- Experience in geodetic requirements associated with project requirements.
- Understanding and experience in design, construction, and surveying within a construction environment.
- Experience in organising and managing site survey teams.
