About The Role

Location: Inverness / Elgin / North of Scotland

Company: Balfour Beatty – Scotland

Project: ASTI Tracks – part of the ASTI programme upgrading Scotland’s electrical transmission network. ASTI Tracks represents the civils delivery arm of the programme, enabling major transmission upgrades across the North and North East of Scotland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial and contractual management of civils and earthworks packages
  • Develop and deliver commercial strategies aligned to programme objectives
  • Manage cost reporting, forecasting and valuations
  • Identify, price and agree variations in line with contract requirements
  • Maintain accurate records to support change management and claims
  • Oversee subcontract procurement, negotiation and administration
  • Manage subcontract accounts in line with contractual terms
  • Monitor cash flow and support applications for payment
  • Support project teams with progress reporting and risk identification
  • Ensure compliance with governance, HSE and commercial standards

Essential Qualifications

  • Strong civils infrastructure background
  • Experience across earthworks, groundworks, drainage and civils packages
  • Knowledge of NEC or similar contracts
  • Experience managing subcontract procurement and accounts
  • Strong commercial, analytical and IT skills
  • Ability to measure and value complex works
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

Desirable Qualifications

  • Professional membership (RICS, CIOB, ICE or similar)
  • Experience within energy or transmission infrastructure
  • Commercially sharp, proactive and comfortable working across multiple sites in a fast‑moving programme environment
