We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Power T&D team. The role will support senior members of the commercial function while also taking responsibility for key commercial duties, including procurement and supply chain management. You will play a central role in managing project costs, driving value, and ensuring our work meets the highest standards of quality and compliance. Typically, a Quantity Surveyor at this level will be chartered or working toward professional membership (RICS, ICES or CIOB) and act as a role model for less experienced team members.
What you'll be doing:
- Organise information clearly and carry out systematic data checks.
- Measure, record and value work independently in line with relevant rules and procedures.
- Review project programmes.
- Plan commercial activities to align with programme requirements.
- Understand the impact of delay and disruption on programme performance.
- Gather information required to specify procurement needs.
- Understand and document the steps and requirements for procuring suppliers.
- Manage customer and stakeholder relationships within your area of responsibility.
- Carry out measurement of works and agreement of valuations with subcontractors.
- Collate cost and value information.
- Prepare cost reconciliation statements.
- Support the development of colleagues within the commercial team.
- Continue working toward professional chartership with RICS or an equivalent body.
