Role Overview

The Business Development Manager will create and implement the overarching sales strategy, with accountability for the company’s sales performance and growth. Key responsibilities include:

  • Direct management of the South East area of the UK
  • Work with the wider management team to ensure the company’s ethos, standards and culture are maintained
  • Set, track, and exceed sales targets both in volume and value
  • Manage existing key accounts; identify and qualify new business opportunities
  • Plan and deliver trade tastings, events, and educational sessions to promote our wines
  • Reporting directly to the Sales Director

The Person

We are looking for a dynamic and inspiring salesperson who thrives in a fast-moving company. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable in creating an overarching sales vision for growth, as well as being numerically and commercially strong. They will have a can-do attitude and the ability to effect positive change.

Experience

The successful candidate will have the following experience and skills:

  • A minimum of two years of wine sales experience
  • Well-connected in the UK wine trade, with experience in managing key accounts and wholesale customers
  • A track record of implementing a growing sales strategy
  • Commercial awareness: strong analytical, organisational and negotiation abilities
  • Tech literacy: proficient in CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce), Microsoft Office Tools, and reporting software

Location

A hybrid role with ideal location in the South East of England. You will be expected to attend regular meetings and host key customers at the winery.
