Are you organised, proactive, and great with people? Our Subcontract team plays a vital role in keeping our supply chain running smoothly — ensuring subcontractors are paid on time and queries are resolved efficiently. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys being part of a collaborative, supportive finance function. As a Subcontract Administrator, you’ll provide essential financial and administrative support across our subcontractor payment processes. Your work will help us uphold the Prompt Payment Code and maintain strong supplier relationships.
What you’ll be doing:
- Reviewing and processing subcontractor payments, including handling rejections, holds, and VAT‑related issues
- Managing daily queries relating to CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) and Domestic Reverse Charge (DRC)
- Working closely with procurement and commercial teams to resolve subcontract payment and purchase order queries
- Responding to queries from internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Investigating and resolving invoice issues promptly and professionally
- Liaising with the wider finance and commercial teams to manage overdue debt queries
- Escalating more complex issues to the Subcontract Manager when required
- Supporting the wider Finance team to ensure consistency and efficiency
- Contributing to team meetings, huddles, and business forums
- Providing support during busy periods or team member absences to maintain business continuity
Who we’re looking for:
You’ll need to have:
- Strong time‑management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Excellent communication skills, including professional telephone manner and strong customer service focus
- A proactive and organised approach, able to multitask and meet tight deadlines
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and IT (Grades A–C)
- A collaborative mindset and an adaptable, can‑do attitude
It would be great (but not essential) if you also have:
- Knowledge of CIS and DRC
- Experience working towards AAT Level 2 or other finance qualifications (CIMA, ACCA, ICM)

You’ll have the freedom to shape the package that’s right for you and your life. Here are some of our key benefits:
- Smart working, giving you more flexibility such as staggered start and finish times, with up to 40% remote working, where roles allow.
- 25 days paid annual leave (pro rata)
