About the role
The Sizewell C (SZC) project requires a Marine Section Engineer to support the wider Engineering and Technical team in developing construction methods, temporary & permanent works design inputs, and onshore support hub establishment for offshore installation of Reinforced Concrete (RC) permanent works structures in the North Sea. Working within the Technical team of the Marine and Tunnels portion, the candidate should have a flexible approach, adaptability to change, and willingness to relocate or travel as needed. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels. A proactive, self-motivated attitude and the ability to work independently and influence decisions are essential.
Accountable for a section of Marine Works related to the Marine & Tunnels portion, responsible for planning, coordination, compliance, site investigations, design review, procurement, risk assessment, quality assurance, technical support, and reporting. Manage and support marine/site engineers reporting to them.

Knowledge & Skills
- Experience in planning and construction of major projects, especially civil, structural, and offshore works in a contractor-led environment, including fabrication and marine operations.
- Effective communication skills with colleagues, subcontractors, and clients.
- Teamwork, leadership, and proactive collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in reviewing 2D design drawings, 3D and 4D models software for industrial applications.
- Experience working in a contractor environment.
- Creative and logical problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks) and Microsoft Office suite.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- 2:2 BEng (Hons) or BSc (Hons) in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering;
- UK work eligibility;
- UK driver’s license;
- CSCS Card;
- Technical and engineering management experience.
Desirable:
- Professional accreditation;
- UK project experience;
- Experience with DCO and MMO License applications;
- Development of work specifications, program, and schedule;
- Familiarity with CDM regulations;
- Marine operation planning;
- Sea survival and medical certifications;
- Site establishment experience;
- SMSTS certification.
