About the role
Balfour Beatty is seeking a talented Senior MEP Design Manager to join our UK Construction Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in leading the design and technical delivery of complex building services projects across a wide range of sectors.
What you'll be doing
- Reviewing tender design information for technical compliance and identifying value engineering opportunities.
- Collaborating with estimating teams to review client requirements, key plant, and equipment selections.
- Leading the engagement and management of external design consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
- Overseeing BIM delivery requirements and monitoring associated costs.
- Providing electrical technical/design support across multiple projects when required.
- Applying Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) principles to develop innovative solutions.
- Attending design and client meetings to ensure smooth project turmoil.
- Supporting quality assurance and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Who we're looking for
- A minimum of HNC/HND (via technical apprenticeship) or a degree in Building Services Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of the UK construction and building services industry.
- Proven experience working on projects from design through to completion.
- Understanding of design interface and on-site challenges.
- Technical knowledge of HV/LV and ELV systems, codes of practice, British Standards, IET 17th/18th Edition, CDM, and Building Regulations.
- Awareness of environmental standards (e.g., BREEAM).
