We are seeking an experienced Design Manager (Electrical) to lead and manage the delivery of electrical design across a range of Building Services projects. You will work collaboratively with our Commercial, Production and Engineering teams during both pre‑construction and construction phases to ensure designs are safe, technically robust, compliant, and aligned with project objectives.
This role suits someone with strong electrical design management experience who enjoys multidisciplinary collaboration and taking accountability for high‑quality delivery.
What you'll be doing
- Lead, coordinate and manage all electrical design activities, from tendering through to project completion.
- Manage internal and external design resources to ensure high‑quality, cost‑effective and compliant electrical solutions.
- Collaborate closely with Commercial and Production teams to support value engineering, buildability reviews, and technical risk management.
- Review, challenge and approve electrical designs to ensure compliance with project specifications, legislation and technical standards.
- Oversee electrical design deliverables and ensure alignment with project programmes and information requirements.
- Chair and participate in design reviews, coordination meetings and multidisciplinary interface sessions.
- Support and drive BIM‑led design development, ensuring model accuracy and compliance with project BIM requirements.
- Ensure all electrical design documentation and change processes comply with NEC contract obligations and information flow requirements.
- Provide clear technical leadership, advice, and mentoring to project teams throughout design and delivery stages.
Who we're looking for
- Proven experience as an Electrical Design Manager or senior electrical engineer within Building Services or Construction.
- Strong understanding of electrical building services systems, design standards and technical compliance requirements.
- Good working knowledge of BIM processes and digital design coordination.
- Solid understanding of the NEC form of contract and how it governs design responsibilities, communication, and change control.
- Experience managing external design consultants and steering multidisciplinary inputs.
