Balfour Beatty VINCI is working with a range of organisations to design and build 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 – Britain’s new high speed railway. Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham. It’s an incredibly exciting time to join us – we’re at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. Plus you’d join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sub-contractor Manager – Parapets within the Delivery Team. This role will be based on site in Kingsbury. The subcontractor Manager is responsible for organising the timely delivery to site of the pre-cast elements. Circa 3,500 number prestressed beams a value of which is estimated at £130m. The Dsubcontractor Manager is responsible for the reporting of the pre-cast suppliers progress and any changes that may affect the delivery requirements of the sublots. The Sub-contractor Manager is responsible for arranging deliveries of the required elements to the individual sublots as and when required. They shall be responsible for, but not limited to: * o Ensuring that the pre-cast suppliers are adhering to the outlined strategy and programme for the delivery of the pre-cast elements * o The timely and efficient delivery to site * o Ensuring that the pre-cast elements delivered to site are to the pre-defined standards and quality that are applicable to the work. The sublot managers are responsible for the installation of the pre-cast elements (including their cost impact). Experienced required * Engineering Degree holder, * To have experience in the construction industry, * Experience in managing site call offs / requirements * Proven experience in managing subcontractors and suppliers. We started working together over 30 years ago to deliver the Channel Tunnel, as members of the TransManche Link consortium. In the Midlands, it is Balfour Beatty VINCI’s role to design and build the route, ready for tracks and signalling to be installed. Our work with HS2 Balfour Beatty VINCI have been awarded a 90km section of the HS2 project from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and then on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.
