Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for a Sub Agent with Heavy Civils and Structures experience to join our team to work in Birmingham on the HS2 tunnelling, Shaft & Civils project. Role Purpose: To lead and control a section of the works, according to a specific discipline across RC Structures, Heavy Civils, Excavations etc management of a team of Section Engineers, Site Engineers within same discipline. Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately. Suggests and implements improvements to systems Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity, including managing others in this regard. Overall, we will be building the following across all our sites: • 9.3km of viaducts • 62 overbridges • 35 cuttings • 56 culverts • 62 embankments • 2 twin bore tunnels and 2 cut and cover tunnels • 28 underbridges and 11 underpasses. Balfour Beatty VINCI is working with a range of organisations to design and build 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 – Britain’s new high speed railway.. Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. It’s an incredibly exciting time to join us – we’re at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. Plus you’d join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sub Agent within the Structures Team This role will be based on site in in Water Orton. Delta Junction will cover a 14 KM stretch within the Water Orton area. The sublot will be responsible for major structures including bridges, viaducts & embankments. This is a great environment to grow due to the complexity of the work involved. Please note candidates will need to have a current valid right to work in the UK to be considered for this role About the role: • Allocate tasks to Section Engineers, Site Engineers and supervise the task to completion. • Ensure the Inspection and Test Plans, and Quality Check Sheets are completed as soon as the checks can be completed to ensure that the works are delivered to specification. • In association with the Section Foreman, assess the plant and resource requirements to meet the demands of site and office based works. • Produce / Approve method statements and risk assessments and ensure they are being followed throughout the works. • Carry out checks of the scheme during construction on site, liaising with the TWC and Site Team. • Preparing and issuing Temporary Works Briefs to the relevant design departments. • Ensure Site Engineers complete setting out in accordance with design. • Ensure Design Drawings are marked up to reflect works completed as the works are finished. • Liaise with other Sub Agents to ensure any clashes on site are managed to ensure a smooth flow of work.
