Overview

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Site Support within the Finance Function. This role will be based on site in Birmingham.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the required transverse activities, including coordinating material and labour cost management across sublots, tracking progress and trends, and acting as the primary point of contact for escalations/new ways of working.
  • Manage BBVJV expectations and lead monthly reviews.
  • Ensure hours are recorded and approved on time with support from Tips Coordinators; book hours and other items in Oracle Time & Labour weekly to generate accurate payroll.
  • Deliver a month end Site support reconciliation mechanism and provide a consistent method for reporting month end accruals (R12 and off-system) to support finance colleagues.
  • Work closely with other members of the finance team to support the overall delivery of the project.
  • Lead and support aged accruals review and PO management.
  • Be the primary SPOC for audit requests (internal & external).
  • Process and documentation review – quarterly as a minimum.
  • Drive compliance and standardisation across the JV.
  • Adopt a continuous improvement mindset; drive new projects and ideas.
  • Knowledge of accounting routines is essential; construction/construction-related accounting experience is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Good attention to detail with a disciplined and organised approach to work and the ability to handle and work with complex data, along with good communication skills.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel. Experience of Oracle is desirable.

About BBV – Project Context

Balfour Beatty VINCI is a long-established joint venture between two powerhouses for the delivery of critical infrastructure across rail, transport and other iconic projects in the UK and beyond. We started working together over 30 years ago to deliver the Channel Tunnel. In the Midlands, BBV\’s role is to design and build the HS2 route, with works including 9.3km of viaducts, 62 overbridges, 35 cuttings, 56 culverts, 62 embankments, 2 twin bore tunnels and 2 cut-and-cover tunnels, 28 underbridges and 11 underpasses across all sites.
