Balfour Beatty VINCI is collaborating with various organizations to design and build a 90km stretch of HS2 in the West Midlands—Britain’s new high-speed railway. Our work is vital for enabling HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham and onwards to Manchester. This is an exciting time to join us, as we are at peak construction with extensive work on bridges, tunnels, and viaducts. You would be part of a team of 9,000 people from 72 nationalities working on this significant project.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Risk Analyst within the Commercial & Risk Function. The role is based on-site in Birmingham (Erdington). Our head office is conveniently located near the M6 and M42, accessible by rail, with a shuttle bus service from Birmingham city centre.
Role Responsibilities:
- Facilitate identification and response to project risks, including reviews and workshops.
- Maintain and update the risk register.
- Support the Risk Manager in analyzing risk data using qualitative and quantitative techniques to inform senior management of key threats and opportunities.
- Aggregate and report risks within the project.
- Monitor and review mitigation actions and their effectiveness.
- Assist in developing SMART risk mitigations for critical project risks.
Experience Required:
- At least 5 years of experience as a risk analyst in construction or civil engineering projects.
- Experience with QCRA tools and techniques (e.g., @Risk, ModelRisk, PRA, Safran, Monte Carlo simulation).
- Proficiency in data management, MS Excel, and PowerBI.
- Attention to detail and task completion skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with proactive approach to adding value.
- Must have a valid right to work in the UK.
