Principal Landscape Clerk of Works – within the Sustainability Function at Balfour Beatty VINCI, based on site in Birmingham. Balfour Beatty VINCI is working on the 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 – Britain’s new high‑speed railway. This is a peak construction phase with large‑scale soft landscape delivery including bridges, tunnels and viaducts, supporting a workforce of 9,000 people across 72 nationalities.
Key Responsibilities
- Experience and knowledge of large-scale soft landscape delivery on site – soils suitability, setting‑out of soft landscape, working with subcontractors, maintenance inspection and beat up surveys.
- Understanding of landscape specifications, planting schedules, plans, master plans and maintenance plans.
- Experience of managing large-scale soft landscaping contracts from design through to construction and establishment.
- Experience of managing landscape construction programmes.
- Attendance of design review meetings with the subcontractor and client.
